Poetry: "Riot Girl" by Lori England

she started a riot in me.

I was expecting to turn soft as my newly deflated stomach,

instead I am freshly forged from fire.

I love her as hungrily as she feeds from me.

This love as sharply angry as her sudden cries

and as deafeningly loud.

A tumultuous joy - bruising me with tiny toes.
